Obama and the Supreme Court

I have beem mildly outraged by the recent conservative backlash against president Obama’s plan to appoint an empathetic justice to the bench.  Dahlia Lithwick over at Slate is a favorite read of mine for her ability to conciely summarize happenings around the Supreme Court.  She has a response which echoes mine except that it is more concise, better written and also angrier (she is usually quite reserved and measured.)
